Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival/Anuradhapura
Arrival at Colombo International Airport Here, you will be met by a
representative of Anbruce Travels. After the formalities at the airport, you will be escorted to your air-
conditioned vehicle. Next, transfer to your hotel in Anuradhapura and check-in to hotel to stay at leisure the
rest of the day.
Day 02 Anuradhapura
After the breakfast at hotel you’ll Tranfer to Anuradhapura. Step back in time with a visit to Anuradhapura, one of Sri Lanka’s most revered ancient capitals and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This sacred city, dating back to the 4th century BCE, served as the heart of Sri Lankan civilization for over a millennium.
During your visit, you will explore iconic landmarks such as the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree – the world’s oldest documented tree, grown from a cutting of the original Bodhi tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment. Witness the architectural marvel of Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, the grandeur of Jetavanaramaya, and the serene beauty of ancient monastic complexes like Abhayagiri. Our guided tour offers deep insight into the spiritual and cultural essence of Anuradhapura, giving you a chance to admire its advanced irrigation systems, colossal stone carvings, and timeless Buddhist heritage.
Day 3,4 Habarana
In Habarana , explore the ancient Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by King Kashyapa. This impressive rock rises 200 meters above the plains, with ancient moats and gardens surrounding its base & climb to pidurangala rock and witness the great sunset . You’ll also visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka, featuring Buddha statues and colorful paintings. Visit ancient city in Polonnaruwa is known to be King Parakrama Bahu – The Great. The remains of the Royal Citadel council chamber, prince’s bathing pool and the Gal Vihare, a stone temple with its colossal sculptures of the Buddha in a quiet grove of trees as well as the still functioning Parakrama Samudra, a man-made reservoir, larger than our Colombo harbor, are on easy distance from each other. The new museum has an excellent scale model of the ancient city as it was.
Day 5,6 Kandy
After the breakfast at hotel you’ll transfer to Kandy. In Kandy, you’ll explore the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist site, a Gem Museum, and enjoy a traditional Cultural Dance Show in the evening. Stage 1 of the Pekoe Trail is a beautiful introduction to Sri Lanka’s central highlands. The hike begins in Hanthana, just outside Kandy, winding through lush tea plantations, pine forests, and misty mountain ridges.
The path is a mix of village footpaths, tea estate roads, and natural trails. Along the way, you’ll pass tea pickers at work, encounter local wildlife, and catch panoramic views of rolling hills that seem to stretch endlessly.
Day 7,8 Ella
The journey began with a breathtaking train ride through Sri Lanka’s lush hill country, where the landscape unfolded like a dream — endless green tea plantations, mist-covered valleys, and cascading waterfalls around every bend. The open doors and windows of the train allowed the cool mountain breeze and scent of fresh tea leaves to sweep in, making the ride feel like a scene from a postcard.
After arriving in Ella, we set off on a hike to Mini Adam’s Peak.
Later, you will make your way to the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, one of Sri Lanka’s most photographed landmarks. Framed by dense jungle and echoing with the distant sounds of birds and rustling leaves, the bridge is a marvel of colonial-era engineering. As the train crossed it slowly, I stood watching from a nearby viewpoint, soaking in the magic of it all.
Day 9 Udawalawe
After the breakfast at hotel , you’ll be transfer to Udawalawe , Enjoy an overnight stay in Udawalawe. Explore the renowned Udawalawe National Park, famous for its elephant population, and don’t miss a visit to the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home — a sanctuary for orphaned baby elephants. the baby elephants naturally come to the center at feeding time, knowing exactly when it’s time for their milk. This heartwarming sight can be observed around 10:30 AM, making it the ideal time to witness this beautiful moment.
Day 10,11,12 Weligama
Relax on the Stunning Shores of Weligama Unwind on one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful coastal destinations — Weligama. With its golden beaches, gentle waves, and laid-back charm, it’s the perfect spot to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the serene beauty of the Indian Ocean.
