Itinerary

Day 1 Airport to Habarana

Arrival at Colombo International Airport Here, you will be met by a representative of Anbruce Travels. After the formalities at the airport, you will be escorted to your air- conditioned vehicle. Next, transfer to your hotel in Habarana and check-in to hotel to stay at leisure the rest of the day.

In Habarana , explore the ancient Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by King Kashyapa. This impressive rock rises 200 meters above the plains, with ancient moats and gardens surrounding its base & climb to pidurangala rock and witness the great sunset . Hiriwadunna Village including a Village authentic lunch, Bullock cart ride and Catamaran safari.

Nestled in the heart of Sri Lanka’s scenic Uva Province, Mahiyanganaya is a peaceful village steeped in history, culture, and natural beauty. It’s the perfect escape for travelers seeking an authentic rural experience. Start your day with a refreshing hike through lush greenery to a nearby hidden waterfall. The trail winds through forest patches and small streams, offering birdsong and fresh air all along the way. A dip in the cool waters at the base of the falls is the perfect reward.

After the hike, enjoy a wholesome traditional village breakfast, served under the shade of a tree or in a local home. Expect freshly prepared dishes like kiribath (milk rice), lunu miris, roti, and sweet halapa – all made with locally sourced ingredients.

After the breakfast at hotel you’ll transfer to kandy. In Kandy, you’ll explore the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist site, a Gem Museum, and enjoy a traditional Cultural Dance Show in the evening. Stage 1 of the Pekoe Trail is a beautiful introduction to Sri Lanka’s central highlands. The hike begins in Hanthana, just outside Kandy, winding through lush tea plantations, pine forests, and misty mountain ridges.
The path is a mix of village footpaths, tea estate roads, and natural trails. Along the way, you’ll pass tea pickers at work, encounter local wildlife, and catch panoramic views of rolling hills that seem to stretch endlessly.

The journey began with a breathtaking train ride through Sri Lanka’s lush hill country, where the landscape unfolded like a dream — endless green tea plantations, mist-covered valleys, and cascading waterfalls around every bend. The open doors and windows of the train allowed the cool mountain breeze and scent of fresh tea leaves to sweep in, making the ride feel like a scene from a postcard.
After arriving in Ella, we set off on a hike to Mini Adam’s Peak. The trail was gentle and scenic, I was rewarded with a sweeping vista of rolling hills, deep valleys, and the distant peaks of the central highlands — a moment of peace and awe.
Later, you will make your way to the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, one of Sri Lanka’s most photographed landmarks. Framed by dense jungle and echoing with the distant sounds of birds and rustling leaves, the bridge is a marvel of colonial-era engineering. As the train crossed it slowly, I stood watching from a nearby viewpoint, soaking in the magic of it all.

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka, renowned for its vibrant wildlife, including elephants, monkeys, and leopards. The park’s varied landscapes of dry woodlands and grasslands create a stunning backdrop for activities such as jeep safaris, bird watching, and nature photography. With a rich array of over 200 bird species, it’s a paradise for birdwatchers. Visitors can also enjoy luxury camping experiences within the park.

Start your tour with a hearty breakfast before heading to the historic city of Galle. Explore the legendary Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where colonial history meets vibrant local culture. As the sun begins to set, take a peaceful walk along the Dutch Fort ramparts, where golden light bathes the ancient stone walls and the ocean stretches out beyond.

Continue to Bentota, famous for its golden beaches and relaxed coastal vibe. Spend your days swimming in the ocean, soaking up the sun, or simply unwinding on the soft sands—perfect for a beach getaway.

Your adventure includes a Madu River Boat Safari, gliding through scenic waterways while spotting native wildlife, and a visit to the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery to learn about inspiring turtle conservation efforts. For thrill-seekers, Bentota also offers water sports such as jet skiing, windsurfing, and snorkeling.
